In the factory of Mercon’s yard in Gorinchem a sulphur tank has been built. This project was awarded to Mercon by Jacobs.
The tank has a height of 11.2m and a diameter of approximately 20m. First a mound was built in the hall in order to create space for the discharge of the tank.
After completion of the tank, 4 cranes lifted the tank and placed it on multiwheelers to bring it from the factory hall to Mercon’s quayside. Subsequently it has been shipped by barge to a Rotterdam refinary.
