Van der Kamp (52) started on April 16, 2020 as the new CEO of Mercon Group B.V. Van der Kamp succeeds Henk Meijer who has been CEO of Mercon Group B.V. for the past (almost) three years. The company has entered a new phase and that is reason for Meijer to hand over the management of the company.
Mercon currently has lower sales than we know from history. The company at the Merwede was still very active in the manufacture and assembly of offshore drilling rigs in addition to the construction and servicing of bridges and storage tanks for oil, gas and biofuels.
This new phase is characterized by leaving the regime structure of the company and thus ending the need for presence of a supervisory board.
Van der Kamp is an experienced CEO from the world of international industrial services in the field of maintenance and construction of various types of assets. Van der Kamp will primarily focus on further optimizing its business operations, strengthening and expanding Mercon’s position and initiating the process towards a multidisciplinary service provider.
Van der Kamp has extensive experience, both in the Netherlands and internationally, as manager operations and director at various large companies with connections to the activities of the Mercon Group B.V. He previously worked at LyondellBasell, Koole, Argos Oil, Verwater Group, COUNT Companies and most recently at CTS Group.
Jacco van der Kamp: “Mercon Group B.V. is an important player in the Benelux market and I see plenty of growth opportunities there. The demand for service & projects within the (petrochemical) industry, tank storage operators and infrastructure remains high. Mercon Group is a reliable partner in this, where safety & craftsmanship are paramount. I look forward to this new challenge”.
