The jury praised Jaap’s entrepeneurship and his achievement for making Mercon an international top player in the field of offshore, bridges, sluices and storage systems for oil and gas. Only twice every 5 years this prestigious award is given to a person that has been innovative in the development of products or industrial activity, which has excelled in running his business, has been commercially successful or who dared to expand its business to new countries or made great achievements in the field of Safety and Environment.
